This week, Chelsea covers a solved case that occurred close to a few of the KCC team. What began as a routine errand quickly became a nightmare investigation.

Lisa and Devon went shopping at Your Kidz & Mine in Collegeville on Sunday, September 10, 1995. What was expected to be a short trip became a cause for concern when Lisa did not arrive home for hours. Jim called police who found Lisa's car in the parking lot near Your Kidz & Mine. Police then began their search for Lisa and Devon.

That evening, Devon's body was found in Valley Forge National Park. Monday, police searched Your Kidz & Mine and found evidence that pointed to the owner's son, Caleb Fairley, as the perpetrator.

Caleb Fairley was largely described as a loner. Those close to the family said he often stayed out of the spotlight, spending most of his time outside of school helping care for his younger siblings and assisting with his parents’ business ventures. But Caleb desperately wanted to be liked and was usually the subject of ridicule, particularly by women according to a classmate.

In the wake of Lisa and Devon Manderach’s heartbreaking murders, the community of Limerick Township came together to honor their memory in a way that reflected hope rather than horror. Determined to create something meaningful from the tragedy, residents and local officials established Manderach Memorial Park, transforming grief into a space of joy, safety, and remembrance. The park, with its bright playground and open fields, serves as a living tribute to Lisa and Devon’s lives—an enduring reminder of the impact they had on their community and a sanctuary where families can gather, children can play, and the legacy of love triumphs over the violence that took them too soon.
