Bonus Episode #13: Penny Doe - Unidentified (1990)

On July 22, 1990 the body of an unidentified woman in Clarion County (a remote area of Monroe Township, about 3 miles south of I-80 near Reidsburg - Western PA) was found by two children who were picking berries.

Est. Date of Death: 4-8 Weeks Prior

Ethnicity: Caucasion - Sex: Female

Height: 5'0" - Weight: 105-120lbs

Hair Color: Long Dark Brown - Eye Color: Unknown

Location Found: Monroe Township (Clarion County)

State of Remains: Skeletal - Nature of Death: Homicide


Injuries: Blunt force trauma to the right side of her skull and broken right leg.


Distinguishing Characteristics: See clothing and dental records below.


Clothing/Items Found: Size 9-10 Gitano Jeans. Fruit of the Loom panties, size 7. A short-sleeve, black, button-down shirt with attached floral vest, Stop Light California brand. No socks, shoes, bra or jewelry. There was a penny in each jeans pocket. It is unknown if the pennies were left on purpose, or simply disregarded when her killer was emptying her pockets.

Dental Records: Available- She may have come from an area with fluoride in the water since her teeth had no fillings and no sign of decay. Despite the perfect condition of her teeth, there were several distinctive characteristics that could help to identify her: A tooth in the upper right side of her mouth was chipped, but it is unknown if the chip occurred before or after death. One front tooth was short and stubby compared to the same tooth on the other sign (unknown which tooth). She still had one of her upper baby teeth behind the adult tooth, i.e. the adult tooth had grown in but the baby tooth had not fallen out (unknown which tooth). She also had one upper tooth that was 90% rotated (unknown which tooth).
